Nadeau: Gulfstream Play of the Day Fri 3.24.23
“PLAY of the DAY” by Brian Nadeau | |
Date: | 3/24/2023 |
Featured Track/Race: | Gulfstream Park – Race 9 |
Race overview: | A full field of bottom-level claimers going a one-turn mile on the main, and there are plenty of ways to go, though #6 RHYMES LIKE DIMES (3-1) looks tough on the Saffie re-claim. |
Pace: | It should be hot and contested, as both #2 Ben Copenhagen and #4 Rave On want to motor early on. |
Trends: | The one-turn mile races are tricky, but you want to be able to stick close early, as the field can get gapped out entering the far turn, which makes it near impossible to make up significant ground. |
Best Play: | #6 RHYMES LIKE DIMES (3-1): Saffie re-claim drew perfectly for this trip and his stalking style, as there’s the aforementioned two speeds to his inside, his other main rival (#12) drew out wide, and either of his last two would win this, and win this comfortably. |
Bet Types: | Aggressive WP bet and single to end the late Pk5/Pk4 as well. |
Meet/POD Stats: | GP Champ. Meet: 596-142-113-96 ($1.66/$5.18 ROI through 3/19)
GP CM POD: 58-15-13-12 ($1.66/$5.65 ROI through 3/19)
