Select Nadeau: Keeneland Play of the Day Sat 4.13.24
“PLAY of the DAY” by Brian Nadeau | |
Date | 4/13/24 |
Featured track | Keeneland |
Race number | 10 |
Race overview | A modest renewal of the G3 Lexington for 3yos at the short stretch/finish line of 1 1/16 miles on the main track. |
Pace | There’s no real speed here, which should allow #5 Hades (7-2)—provided he gets off to an alert beginning this time—to control things from the start. |
Trends | The main track was speedy and inside Opening Weekend, as very few horses came from too far off the pace, and at this short stretch/finish line, it’s next to impossible to make up significant ground late, so you better have some tactical speed, at least. |
Best Play | #5 HADES (7-2): Expected Lone F didn’t break then got checked early in the G1 Florida Derby, and hated it from there, in a completely throwout race, but this trip is perfect, he’s (by all indications from the connections) doing great, and he’s just better than this group. |
Bet Types | Aggressive WP bet and single in the late Pk5/Pk4 as well. |
Play of the Day Winners | Kee Meet (through 4/7): 30-7-8-9 ($2.02/$7.56)
Kee POD (through 4/7): 3-0-1-1 (X/$3.75)
